4th Week of School (Sept.20-23)
This week in Science we spent more time examining Waste in Our World. We learned some pretty staggering facts about the amount of garbage humans produce each year, how much garbage ends up in the oceans each year and how much food we throw out each year. In Social Studies we located Alberta on a map. Next we gave the cardinal compass directions to the other Canadian provinces and territories from Alberta. We have been practicing matching capital cities with their provinces and territories. It's interesting to hear about all of the places the students have visited! In Literacy we have; wrote an I see, I think, I wonder about a dog in a dishwasher, completed a visual journal page on "The Problem With Waste", worked on a short essay about a volunteer dog named Zena. As always we completed daily work on spelling, Problem Of The Day, gratitude writing, Math and interpreting wisdom quotes.
