3rd Week of School (Sept. 13-17th)

 Hello Room #9 Families,

Thank you for stopping by to look at snapshot of our school work this week.

This week we;

-completed our 1st I see, I think, I wonder (Man on a Horse)

-finished reading The Fantastic Mr.Fox.  We wrote mid point and final summaries for the book

-begin our new novel study "Wonder"

-celebrated international "Dot" day by creating our own Dot paintings

-looked at ways eco-systems work together and wrote/illustrated ways to help our local eco-systems

-grade 3s had a Math quiz on Patterns and Algebra 

-grade 4s had a Math quiz on Number sense 

-looked at the provinces and territories of Canada

-learned about one of the coyote trickster stories

-sketched a fox

-worked on our first event map titled "My Morning"

-wrote about 5 different words of wisdom and what they mean to us

-wrote in our gratitude books

-visited the Library on Thursday

-received out Mathletics and Raz-Kids login information

-completed our self portraits

Week 40 -Sports Day and Last Day of School!

 Well....we made it, 40 weeks of school!  Only one missed because of Covid, from masking and distancing to being all together.  We had 4 new students (William, Zahra, Dasha and Alisa) join us later in the year.  This 2021-2022 school year is a wrap!  We will miss Micah and Teddy as they head off to new adventures. We wish Dani all the best as she heads back home to Mexico City after studying in Canada for the year.   Thank you ALL for making this another great year at Earl Grey School! y!

17th Week of School (Jan.10th-14th)

Happy 2022 Room #9! After an extra long Christmas break for the students they were keen to get back to business at school.  This week we welcomed William to our class.  William and his siblings, Grace and Daniel attended Earl Grey before moving to Singapore 2.5 years ago.  We are excited to have him back at E.G with us.  This week we; -wrote about our winter breaks -wrote about our top moments in 2021 -learned and wrote about the history of Christmas crackers -learned about reflection on concave and convex surfaces -completed an experiment using 3 different coloured water bottles to look at transparent, translucent and opaque -wrote and sketched some of the characteristics of the Rocky Mountains -learned about Pablo Picasso and began a cubism drawing -sketched a moose

22nd Week Of School (Feb. 14th-17th)

 Hello All, We had a very short week but covered lots of very important concepts.  This week we spend a lot of time talking about, writing and sharing compliments.  We each practiced writing 3 compliments for 3 different people.   Thank you to Terra (Teddy's Mom) who shared a video with us called "Beyond My Face".  We watched this video multiple times before writing personal responses. "How did it make you fee? What could you do? How do you think the speakers felt? What do you think the message was?" Beyond My Face
