Happy 2022 Room #9! After an extra long Christmas break for the students they were keen to get back to business at school. This week we welcomed William to our class. William and his siblings, Grace and Daniel attended Earl Grey before moving to Singapore 2.5 years ago. We are excited to have him back at E.G with us. This week we; -wrote about our winter breaks -wrote about our top moments in 2021 -learned and wrote about the history of Christmas crackers -learned about reflection on concave and convex surfaces -completed an experiment using 3 different coloured water bottles to look at transparent, translucent and opaque -wrote and sketched some of the characteristics of the Rocky Mountains -learned about Pablo Picasso and began a cubism drawing -sketched a moose
Hello All, We had a very short week but covered lots of very important concepts. This week we spend a lot of time talking about, writing and sharing compliments. We each practiced writing 3 compliments for 3 different people. Thank you to Terra (Teddy's Mom) who shared a video with us called "Beyond My Face". Hello Room 9! This week we; -wrapped up the gymnastics unit with Mission Impossible. We took advantage of the fresh snow and went snowshoeing twice. -learned about the Metis People and Voyageurs. Next week we will have a quiz on the Voyageurs. -reviewed what Pink Shirt Day is, how it got started and how we should treat other people -created a Multiplication Visual Journal anchor chart (grade 3) -began talking about our upcoming short story writing unit.
